About the Affiliated Clinical Group
Members of the clinical staff have extensive, specialized experience in general clinical practice and evaluations.

Affiliated is a multidisciplinary group practice. The basic approach of Affiliated Psychologists is to provide realistic, practical, problem-focused treatment.
Directors
Diana Everstine, Ph.D. Psychology License: PSY4771
Dr. Diana Everstine treats adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. Her special interests include general psychotherapy, psychological evaluations, post-traumatic reactions, relationship problems, children, adolescents, and adults who have special needs. Diana Everstine is the co-author, with Louis Everstine, of People in Crisis; Psychotherapy and the Law; Sexual Trauma in Children and Adolescents, The Trauma Response: Treatment for Emotional Injury, and Strategic Interventions for People in Crisis, Trauma, and Disaster. Her articles have appeared in American Psychologist, Family Process , and Strategic Interventions for People in Crisis. She was a co-founder of the Emergency Treatment Center, and is a Senior Research Fellow of the Mental Research Institute. Dr. Everstine has many years of experience as a very successful expert witness. Her legal references are available upon request.

Louis Everstine, Ph.D. Psychology License: PSY4557
Dr. Louis Everstine treats adults, adolescents, children, and couples. His special interests are depression, life crises, psychological evaluations, post-traumatic reactions. He is the co-author with Diana Everstine of: People in Crisis: Psychotherapy and the Law; Sexual Trauma in Children and Adolescents, The Trauma Response: Treatment for Emotional Injury and Strategic Interventions for People in Crisis, Trauma, and Disaster. He is the author of The Anatomy of Suicide, and articles in American Psychologist, Family Process, and Journal of Personality. He was a co-founder of the Emergency Treatment Center and a Fellow of the Mental Research Institute.

Clinical Affiliates
Jocelyn Y. Pan, Ph.D.Psychology License: PSY23449
Dr. Pan is a licensed clinical psychologist. She obtained her bachelor degree in Psychobiology at UCLA. She received her master and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at California School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Pan also received two years of intensive post-doc psychoanalysis training at New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles. Her specialties include emotional, behavioral and personality issues in adolescents and adults, anxiety, depression, self-injury behaviors, interpersonal relationship, stress management, anger management, relaxation skills and psychological testings including IQ and personality tests. She provides individual, couple, family and group therapy. Besides treating clients at private practice, Dr. Pan also works as a Clinical Administrator at the adolescent crisis residential unit at Anka Behavioral Health. Dr. Pan is also specialized in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. She has been working with personal injury attorneys and testifying in courts as expert witness. Bradley Manning, Ph.D. Pyschology License: PSY20180
Dr Manning earned his doctoral degree from the Ohio State University in 2002, and has been a part of Affiliated Psychologists' staff since 2003. Dr. Manning provides individual therapy for children, adolescents and adults, as well as couples and family counseling. Dr. Manning also conducts psychological and educational evaluations, and specializes in the diagnosis of disorders typically identified during childhood and adolescence, including autism, Asperger's syndrome, ADHD, learning disabilities, mental retardation, and emotional disturbances. He is licensed as a Psychologist (PSY 20180), and an Educational Psychologist (LEP 2736).


Linda Sattler, Psy.D.Psychology License PSY 24036
Dr. Linda Sattler is a licensed clinical psychologist, who earned her Master and Doctoral degrees at the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium. Dr. Sattler completed her pre-doctoral internship at UC-Santa Cruz Counseling & Psychological Services Center, and she served as a Multicultural Postdoctoral Resident at San Jose State University Counseling Services. She is a generalist practitioner, with specialties in: mood and anxiety disorders, interpersonal relationship distress, couples' therapy, guided relaxation therapy, cognitive-behavioral interventions (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational enhancement therapy for increasing one's intrinsic motivation for change. Dr. Sattler has gained experience working with adolescents, young adults, and older adults, in a multitude of settings, both inpatient and outpatient. She currently does contract work for SJSU Counseling Services, as a counseling psychologist. In addition, she was a teacher to high school students for four years prior to pursuing graduate school. Overall, Dr. Sattler works from a stengths-based approach to treatment, seeking to enhance each person's potential for positive emotional growth and change.


Neuropsychological
Rex Bierley, Ph.D.
Dr. Bierley completed his doctoral degree in Biopsychology in 1981. His postdoctoral training was received at Veterans' Administration Hospital in Palo Alto, where he was a clinical intern from 1988 to 1990. He became a licensed psychologist in California in 1990. He was a university professor for seven years. Now a specialist in psychological and neurological assessment, he works extensively with both older adults and head injury patients; in the latter capacity, he was National Coordinator for Neuropsychological Research for the Departments of Defense and Veterans' Affairs Head Injury Program for eight years. He has consulted on many forensic cases involving dementia or head injury. He works with major corporations to assess the risk to the company of unstable or disgruntled employees. He provides trauma counseling to officers in local law enforcement agencies.

Gary Miles, Ph.D.
Gary T. Miles, Ph.D. completed his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Pennsylvania State University in 1988. He subsequently completed his internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Palo Alto V.A. Medical Center in Clinical Neuropsychological. He became a licensed Psychologist in California in March of 1990 and practices in the fields of neuropsychological, psychological assessment, and psychotherapy, with particular interest in ethnic minority issues, adolescence, and gender identity issues.
